What is RPET fabric, and how is it made?

RPET (Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate) is a high-quality textile made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic bottles. At Waste2Wear, we collect these bottles, clean them, and shred them into flakes. These flakes are then melted and spun into durable, soft polyester fibers that can be used for everything from high-end fashion to heavy-duty workwear.

What is the difference between RPP and RPET?

While both are recycled plastics, they serve different purposes. RPET is primarily used for soft fabrics and clothing. RPP (Recycled Polypropylene) is sourced from discarded household appliances and food containers, making it perfect for durable, reusable shopping bags and eco-friendly packaging.

How can I be sure my product is actually made from recycled plastic?

We believe in "Verified Transparency." Waste2Wear uses a proprietary blockchain technology that tracks every step of the supply chain—from the moment the waste is collected to the finished product. By scanning the unique QR code on your item, you can see the digital "birth certificate" of your fabric, including exactly where the plastic came from.

How does Waste2Wear test for authenticity?

We developed the RA-3 (Recycling Assurance) test, a patent-pending chemical method that detects the "fingerprint" of recycled plastic. This ensures that no virgin plastic is being mixed in secretly, providing a 100% guarantee that your fabric is as sustainable as we say it is.

How much water and energy does recycled polyester save?

Choosing Waste2Wear recycled fabrics makes a measurable difference. Compared to virgin polyester, our process uses:

  • 86% less water

  • 75% less $CO_{2}$ emissions

What materials are Waste2Wear bags made from?

Our bags are primarily crafted from two types of recycled plastic:

  • RPET (Recycled Polyester): Best for soft, premium-feel tote bags, backpacks, and drawstring bags.

  • RPP (Recycled Polypropylene): Ideal for heavy-duty, reusable supermarket bags and "life-long" shopping carriers due to its incredible strength and water resistance.

  • Ocean-Bound Plastic: We also offer specialized collections made from plastic intercepted within 50km of shorelines to prevent it from entering our oceans.

Can I customize the design and branding on recycled bags?

Yes! Sustainability doesn't mean sacrificing style. We use eco-friendly, non-toxic inks for all printing. Whether you need full-color heat transfer, silk-screen printing, or specialized textures, our RPET and RPP fabrics hold color vibrantly and resist fading over time.
